This three hour workshop will introduce participants to the basics of the cyanotype process. The workshop is ideal for beginners who wish to learn how to print onto hand-coated paper using an early photographic process.
Students will learn how to mix light-sensitive cyanotype chemistry, how to coat art paper, how to make photograms, how to make a photographic cyanotype print from a negative, and a brief history of the cyanotype process. Each student will leave with at least two cyanotype prints of their own.
What to bring
All materials will be provided. You will need to email your tutor a selection of high resolution digital images in advance of the workshop, and you should bring a selection of flat objects to make photograms with.
