The salt print was invented by William Henry Fox Talbot in the 1830s, and remained the most popular form of photographic printing until the 1850s.
In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to hand-coat art paper with light-sensitive chemicals, before exposing it with a negative to UV light and processing to make your own salt prints.
The workshop covers the basics of salt printing, including:
- History of the process
- Paper choice and preparation
- Mixing salt and silver solutions
